Kurek Ashley is a shining example of what can happen to someone who opens his or her heart and mind. In this book, he inspires people to transform themselves in the most extraordinary way. This is a not just another feel good book. It presents a precise map for creating a different kind of life, and one that is in the reach of most of us if we will only choose.

| GREETINGS |
Spring is now in full bloom with new life bursting forth every day. Remember that this is still a period of rebirth and continual growth within our environment and within our spirits.
This month in the US, we celebrate Mother's Day. As we honor Mothers this month, I encourage you to also recognize and honor all special women in your life including Grandmothers, Aunts, Sisters, Friends, Teachers, Coworkers and others. Take the opportunity to express your gratitude for the nurturing, care and support that they offer you.

IN HONOR OF MOTHERS |
She speaks all the languages of the world. Her skin is various shades of color. She is tall and short and every height in between. She works inside the home. She works outside the home. She does both. She is single. She is married. She is alive on earth. She is alive in heaven.
She was once a little girl with high hopes, big dreams and great aspirations.
This Mother's Day, living rooms, hospital rooms, nursing homes and cemeteries will fill up with flowers - for Her.
Whether you came through her or whether you came to her, she is your Mother.
This Mother's Day, may the kindest of spirits be kindled deep within each of us, that we may do no harm and set our hearts towards healing for ourselves, those nearest to us, and our world. Then it will be a happy Mother's Day indeed. |
| BE IN GRATITUDE |
One of the most difficult spiritual lessons for us to master is realizing that every experience and every person in our lives is here to help us grow and become all we can be. Sometimes the experiences are triumphs and the people cheerleaders, but more often than not, it is the difficulties and the enemies we encounter that prod us forward and force us to reach within and claim our destiny.
Certainly we must be thankful for our friends and loved ones, but we should not forget to be thankful for those who would be our enemies, too. For blessings often come from where we least expect them and every blessing, no matter from whence it came, is worthy of our gratitude. Every single one.

| OOPS...YOUR SKIN IS SHOWING |
Although we have moved into the full-bloom of spring and we are eager to be in clothing that doesn't cover us from head to toe, our skin may be still showing the of drying effects winter. Try this recipe for a homemade brown sugar skin scrub. It is easy to make, contains no chemicals and will provide you with silky smooth skin.
INGREDIENTS 1 cup organic brown sugar 1 cup white granulated sugar ¾ cup almond, soybeans, hazelnut, or macadamia nut base oil 2 teaspoons cinnamon, powdered 2 teaspoons ginger, powdered 2 teaspoons nutmeg, powdered 40 drops cardamom essential oil
In a medium-sized bowl, combine all ingredients except the essential oil. Using a whisk, blend ingredients thoroughly, making sure to break up any lumps of brown sugar or spice. Add the essential oil drop by drop, blending after each addition.
Spoon into a storage container with a tight-fitting lid. No refrigeration is required, but for maximum freshness and fragrance, please use within six months.
Massage approximately ¼ to ½ cup of scrub onto pre-moistened skin using circular motions. Rinse.

| MEMORIAL DAY...LEST WE FORGET |
With highest regard and deepest respect, let us unite to honor the men and women whose legacy is service, whose heritage is sacrifice and whose gift is freedom.
Rather than mourn the extinction of the stars, let us celebrate and always remember how bright they burned.
