| GREETINGS |
Autumn is upon us!!! Autumn signals an obvious time for clearing and making way for something fresh, something new. Even the air we breathe has a renewed crispness and freshness. The grass and leaves are looking greener without the aid of water and many flowers have come to complete fullness and have begun to shed their petals. Autumn signifies clearing or more specifically, Autumn signifies clarity.
I invite you to get clear on some of the basics of your life. Enjoy your friends and family, get focused on something you are passionate about, choose to learn something new and as you breathe in the freshness of the fall, I invite you to relax into clarity.
For more information and resources, I invite you to visit my website at www.theheartsjourney.net. For your convenience, links to key pages on my site are listed at the left.
Wishing you a powerful day and an abundant life.......Kathy |
| THE FIRST STEP TO CLARITY: BEING REAL |
"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.
"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real, you don't mind being hurt."
"Does it happen all at once, like being wound up," he asked, "or bit by bit?"
"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't often happen to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."
-- Margery Williams (The Velveteen Rabbit)
Let's bring our authentic natures to life! Together, we can do this if we:
Honor the truth of our lives as they are right now - our pain, our frustrations, our fury and despair as well as our caring, creativity, passion and joy.
Become more aware of what holds us back. We need to see how we sabotage our own growth. With awareness, we create new choices for ourselves and a new reality for our lives.
Uncover and express who we are at heart - our authentic self. Let go of doubt and fear as we accept who we really are.
Explore ways to create a new reality of fulfillment, sanity and health for ourselves. It is all about loving ourselves enough to choose what makes us happy...what brings us peace. |
| TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON... |
By Waverly Fitzgerald
For many, Autumn is a time of focusing on endings or loss. The Chinese seasonal model suggests a healthy way to deal with Autumn, by thinking of it as the season of new beginnings. This is a way that is in alignment with this season of abundance in the natural world. When the body is in balance, worry becomes love and compassion. The language of judgment and blame can fall away as we recognize the "beautiful needs" at the heart of our desires
Another shift that brings us into balance occurs when we move from grief from endings to the grace of "letting go." When we recognize the necessity of an ending, we can honor it. A graceful approach to Autumn could include expressing gratitude, delegating tasks or passing on what you have learned to others, all activities that resonate with the harvest theme.
Go deep inside and explore what you can let go of so that you are able to enjoy the beauty of what is and embark on your own personal New Beginning. |

| FOR SEASONAL SNIFFLES...ANTI-VIRAL TEA |
By Annie Bond, Executive Producer of Care2's Green Living
Ingredients
Ginger helps stimulate a therapeutic sweat. Studies also show that it helps fight against bacterial infections that may develop as a result of the viral infection. Lemon juice does the same thing, warding off secondary bacterial infections and giving a whopping amount of Vitamin C. Apple cider (and apple cider vinegar), is extremely rich in minerals and has been employed since ancient times for this reason.
Step One One cup of peeled, chopped and minced fresh ginger, 10 cups of water
Step Two Apple cider (1/2 cup per serving) Lemon juice
Directions
Peel and mince the ginger (a food processor makes little work of this job). Simmer the minced ginger in 10 cups of water for an hour or so. Strain.
When ready to have a serving place 1/2 cup of the strained ginger water in a pan with 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar and a squirt or two of lemon juice. Heat and serve. | |
