HIV+ client sought medical treatment at the hospital for what appeared to be a work-related shoulder injury. The hospital subsequently sent his employer a bill for treatment along with copies of all of the client's medical documents, which unnecessarily and unlawfully disclosed his HIV status. Client would like assistance filing a complaint against the hospital for disclosing HIV status without his consent. Client seeks help determining why she is being sued by a collections company. Client purchased a computer in 2001 over the phone on an installment payment plan. Her monthly payments were roughly $75. A year and a half later, she entered into a second installment payment plan with the computer company for additional hardware. Her monthly payments for this loan are estimated to be $34. From the beginning, she experienced problems with them. First, they sent her the wrong, non-functioning equipment. She was unable to use the entire computer system. Their technicians acknowledged the computer system was a faulty; however, they told her that their policy only allowed them to fix equipment one piece at a time. Additionally, they charged her late fees from the beginning, although she was never late in making any payments. While disputing these charges, she continued to pay her monthly bills.
