On May 30th

I was pulled from the brink of death

By miraculous hands

My heart had ceased its beat

But fate aligned to give me another choice

I send prayers and gratitude

For all who aided me in my recovery

and who helped Rod and I in our hours of uncertainty and fear

My heart is full of love

and a humbling awareness of the mystery

of my initiation into the unknown.
