Performing Live at the Rookery this Sunday
This is it. The final (17th of 17) live outdoor music performances in the Rookery's Summer Sunday Serenades series happens this weekend. And what a weekend we have in store for you.
First off the weather is looking to be absolutely ideal this Sunday. Mid-60s and mostly clear. Plus the fall colors all around the Rookery should be pretty much at peak. We couldn't have ordered better weather at the end of September for our last outdoor music of the season.
Nor could we have ordered a better group to cap off a wonderful season. It's Molly and the Danger Band, folks! Enough said.
I can't tell you how many people have told me they really like the idea of the Rookery offering live outdoor music...but just haven't been able to make it over to partake all summer long. You know who you are. Well, it's our last dance. And your last chance. At least 'til next summer. It's gonna be a long winter in the meantime!
Speaking of which, we got a rather rude preview of what's ahead for us last Friday when the rain suddenly and unexpectedly changed to slushy wet snow overnight. So much for the Rookery's beautiful new music tent...which succumbed to the heavy load after only 15 performances and came to a premature and inglorious end in our trash dumpster.
Thankfully we shouldn't need a tent this weekend. But be sure to bring along a parasol if you're at all sensitive to sunny and 66 degrees.
As always the Rookery grill fires up at 1:30 on Sunday and the music begins at 2. But be sure to get here early. Molly and the boys generally attract quite a crowd.
Molly and the Danger Band. Sunday. Live. Outdoors. And only at the Rookery!
Autumn Hours
The Rookery will continue to be open 7 nights for dinner thru Monday, October 15 (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning Oct 16).
Our Friday and Saturday lunch service is over for the season. However, our patio grill menu will be available this one last Sunday from 1:30 to 4:30 in conjunction with our live outdoor music.
