Performing Live at the Rookery this Sunday
We're very excited to be welcoming yet another new (to us) band to the Rookery this weekend. This will be the third consecutive week a first-timer will appear on our outdoor stage. And also the third week in a row the performers will be coming to us all the way from Eau Claire.
It only took me one sample track to know how much I wanted to get Eggplant Heroes to the Rookery. Their music is an eclectic mix of originals, literary adaptations, mountain gospel, and folk. Check out a few of their songs HERE.
While they typically perform as a quartet, this weekend the band will appear as Eggplant Heroes Trio: a musical collaboration among Duffy Duyfhuizen, Olaf Lind, and Caleb Horne. The talented trio blends acoustic strings, trumpet, and multi-voiced harmonies in a combination of original songs, other folk, and Americana.
It's sure to be another fun weekend of live music at the Rookery. And the weather is shaping up to be the very best we've had for outdoor music this entire summer. The current forecast is for partly cloudy with a high of 70 to 75 degrees. Our patio grill fires up at 1:30, and the music runs from 2 to 5. Plan to arrive early, because seating is limited and on a first come-first served basis.
The Rookery's Summer Sunday Serenades are scheduled EVERY Sunday afternoon (plus Labor day) through the end of September...17 live outdoor concerts in all. All performances are free, though gratuities for the musicians are most appreciated. For the most up to date schedule of all performances check out our online music calendar.
