Come see the emerging talent of the Music Buddies musicians this Monday, June 7, 7:30pm at Kilmer Middle School during the annual Music Buddies Mentorship Program's Showcase Recital! Every year, mentors from the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras are matched with students of the same instrument at local public schools. As teachers and rolde models, these mentors provided over 1,000 free, weekly lessons (collectively) to more than 35 students at 17 schools throughout Northern Virginia and Maryland. Mentors prepare their students for this one moment in the spotlight - a chance for the "mentees" to show off their skills! AYPO will also welcome a surprise special guest to the Showcase Recital - we can't tell you who it is or it wouldn't be a surprise! (Click here to learn more about the Music Buddies Mentorship Program.)
