Ensemble Avalon, a dynamic, young piano trio now on its first North American concert tour, is widely regarded as one of the finest chamber music groups of its generation working in Ireland today. Formed in 2006, the trio promotes unity through music and offers a modern vision of Ireland both at home and abroad. The trio has quickly developed a strong profile through concert performances, radio broadcasts, recordings, touring and the development of a major new chamber music festival, the Wexford Chamber Music festival.  In 2011, Ensemble Avalon became the first ever ensemble in residence at Trinity College Dublin.

Violinist Ioana Petcu-Colan, cellist Gerald Peregrine, and pianist Michael McHale came together with the vision of exploring new and existing chamber works together. All three members are 1st-class honors laureates of prestigious colleges; among them they have studied intensively in Ireland, the UK, France, and the US.
