Winner of The Dublin International Piano Competition and the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan, pianist Alexej Gorlatch was born in Kiev in 1988. His many other prizes include 1st prize in the International Anton G. Rubinstein Competition, 2nd prize in the Leeds Competition, 1st prize in the Beethoven Competition Richard Laugs in Mannheim, Germany, and Audience Favorite prize in the International Beethoven Competition in Bonn, Germany. Dynamic Dublin pianist, Thérèse Fahy, will present
Inter-changes: Irish Piano Music of the 21st Century. The concert, part of her US tour presented by Imagine Ireland and the Fulbright Commission, highlights music of Bill Whelan (composer of Riverdance) to jazz-influenced Ronan Guilfoyle - a cross-section of traditional to avant-garde Irish contemporary music. One of Ireland's foremost pianists, Fahy enjoys an active teaching and performing career, having received critical acclaim for her concerts in Europe, the US, and in broadcasts for both RTÉ and BBC.

The Washington Conservatory of Music is a nationally accredited community music school that serves the greater metropolitan DC and Bethesda, MD area from two locations: Westmoreland Circle (at the border of the District and Maryland) and at Glen Echo Park.
At WCM, students of all ages and ability levels study without audition under the guidance of the Conservatory's exceptional international artist faculty.
