Enjoy virtuosic music from the end of the 19th century and start of the 20th by composers including Herbert L. Clarke, Hermann Bellstedt, Jules Levy, and John Philip Sousa.
Washington Conservatory faculty member Christopher Sala is the 1st place winner of the 1996 International Trumpet Guild Solo Competition, the 1997 ITG Mock Orchestra Competition, and the 2nd place winner of the 1997 National Trumpet Competition. He has also been a semi-finalist in the Brandt Competition in Russia and the Maurice André Competition in Paris. He toured the US and Costa Rica with the Atlantic Brass and Epic Brass, playing recitals and performing as featured guest artist with symphony orchestras. He is a member of the United States Navy Band in Washington, DC, where he is a frequent soloist, and a member of the Navy Band Brass Quintet. |

Winner of The Dublin International Piano Competition and the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan, pianist Alexej Gorlatch was born in Kiev in 1988. His many other prizes include 1st prize in the International Anton G. Rubinstein Competition, 2nd prize in the Leeds Competition, 1st prize in the Beethoven Competition Richard Laugs in Mannheim, Germany, and Audience Favorite prize in the International Beethoven Competition in Bonn, Germany. The Washington Conservatory of Music is a nationally accredited community music school that serves the greater metropolitan DC and Bethesda, MD area from two locations: Westmoreland Circle (at the border of the District and Maryland) and at Glen Echo Park.
At WCM, students of all ages and ability levels study without audition under the guidance of the Conservatory's exceptional international artist faculty.
