Hailed for his prodigious technique, and praised by the Washington Post for an "unusually fresh and arresting approach to the piano," pianist Michael Adcock is the recipient of the 1998 Lili Boulanger Memorial Award, a prizewinner in the 1996 Washington International Competition, and a prizewinner in the Kosciusko Foundation Chopin Competitions in Chicago and New York.   He made his Carnegie Recital Hall debut in December of 1998.  In addition to performances throughout the United States, Mr. Adcock has concertized in France, Italy, and Australia, and has appeared as soloist with orchestras including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

Mr. Adcock earned his Master's degree, Artist Diploma, and Doctorate from the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, where he studied with Leon Fleisher and Ellen Mack.  A former Artist-in-Residence at the Aspen Institute's Wye River, Maryland location, Michael Adcock now makes his home in Washington, DC, where he is a faculty member of the Washington Conservatory of Music.

The exceptionally diverse program will include movements or individual selections from a single work or suite.  Composers featured include Haydn, Schubert, Schumann, Ravel, Clementi, Debussy, and Granados.  Highlights include:

"The Alcotts," from the Concord Sonata  - Charles Ives
Danzas Argentinas - Alberto Ginastera
Etudes in c# minor & d# minor - Alexander Scriabin
Intermezzo in A Major - Johannes Brahms
