For lovers of the music of a great Czech composer and fans of one of the best flutists in the country, we invite you to take special note of "Three Generations Celebrate Martinu," a Sunday afternoon concert featuring the music of Bohuslav Martinu, on March 22 by St. Paul Chamber Orchestra principal flutist Julia Bogorad-Kogan, Minnesota Orchestra violist Benjamin Ullery, and pianist Margo Garrett.
The "Three Generations" are Julia Bogorad-Kogan, her son, Benjamin Ullery, and her mother, Hope Bogorad, for whom Martinu wrote the composition, "Merry Christmas 1941 to Hope Castagnola." Both Julia and Hope Bogorad will share with the audience reminiscences and stories about Martinu.
