Greetings!
We just received word that soprano Aimé Sposato, scheduled to perform tonight with the Audubon Quartet, unfortunately must cancel due to illness. Instead, the quartet will be joined by clarinetist Garrick Zoeter in a performance of the Quintet for Clarinet and Strings in B-flat, Op.34 by Carl Maria von Weber (1786-1826). A native of Alexandria, Va., Mr. Zoeter received his bachelor's degree from the Juilliard School and his masters degree from Yale University. He made his solo debut at the age of seventeen in Weber's Concerto No.1 with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. He has won numerous competitions including first prize in the 2002 Concert Artists Guild Competition and the 1991 International Clarinet Society International Clarinet Competition. He is a faculty member at Shenandoah Conservatory and is the founding member of the acclaimed multi-award-winning clarinet, violin, cello, piano quartet Antares, with whom he has appeared at prestigious venues including the Kennedy Center, La Jolla Chamber Music Society, Aspen Music Festival, Strathmore, Ensemble Music Society of Indianapolis, and Cincinnati Chamber Music Society.
The program will also include Peter Schickele's String Quartet No.1, "American Dreams," and Brahms Quartet No. 2 in a minor.
Hope to see you at 7:30 tonight for an outstanding performance. Musically yours,
Kathy Judd
