Greetings!
This month's issue addresses topics such as Web 2.0 and Social Networking. Mark your calendar for our next Constant Contact seminar too!
Thank you to all of our friends who expressed their well wishes with the news of our 2008 SBA Home Based Business Champion Awards. We couldn't have won without all of the entrepreneurs and organizations we work with who make small businesses successful every day.

Why Web 2.0 is Good
for Your Business
|
|
By now, most people
who use the internet have heard of Web 2.0, but do you really know what it
means, and more importantly, how your business can benefit from this
technology?
Many experts attempt to explain what Web 2.0 is, but the
basic premise is this: Web 2.0 takes the
internet from something you read to something you change.
Why does this matter to your small business or
organization? Because today's technology
makes it possible for anybody to produce content online.
Ways you can embrace the technology of Web 2.0 include:
- Use an
online networking website like Linked In or Facebook to connect with
colleagues, clients, alumni, or friends.
- Create
your own blog for your business.
Visit sites like Blogger.com or WordPress to set up a free blog,
and post announcements, press releases, or general commentary. Don't forget to link to your blog from
your website.
- Set up
a wiki - a great tool for corporate intranets. This medium allows members to
collaborate online. For more
information on how to set up a wiki, go to http://www.wikihow.com/Start-a-Wiki.

Are You LinkedIn Yet?

Networking with Technology
For those of you in touch with your techie side, you may have already heard of Social Networking. It takes the "who knows who" online, and enables you to connect with business partners, clients, colleagues, friends, and family.
From your immediate connections, you can see who your close circle knows, and in an ideal situation, that connection would make it easier for you to connect with that prospect you've been targeting but had no way to get your foot in the door.
I utilize a site called LinkedIn (view my profile here) and consistently add to my network of people. This allows me to not only market my business to all of my network's connections, but allows me to get recommendations for other services that I may need help with.
It's free, so check it out today. It could lead to your next great client.
