ofa 2.0 Organizing for America
On the eve of the inauguration Barack Obama has announced the next phase of his efforts to empower Americans through political organizing - his campaign movement will become Organizing for America, affiliated with the Democratic National Committee and charged with bringing the grassroots-powered movement for change to the next level. From the official announcement (click on the image to see the video):

"When I'm sworn in as the President of the United States, it will be because of you. You've built the largest grass roots movement in history, and shaped the future of this country. And the movement you've built is too important to stop growing now. Today I'm pleased to announce the creation of Organizing for America-the organization that will build on the movement you started during the campaign.

As President, I will need the help of all Americans to meet the challenges that lie ahead. That's why I'm asking people like you who fought for change during the campaign to continue fighting for change in your communities."
