Word 2003 & 2007: Format Tip
Quick Format Changes
Do changes in documents make you wish you were a quick change artist? After this tip you will feel that you are.
Scenario: You have just finished a multiple page report and you formatted twenty subtitles throughout the report in bold, a font size of 14, and a text color of red. However, you have now decided that you want all twenty subtitles to be a text color of blue.
Searching through the document for the various subtitles and selecting them for change can be a tedious task. Word has a quick solution and you are only a right-click away. Read on for the quick format change instructions for Word 2003 and Word 2007. Word 2003 Instructions
- Select the text containing the formatting you wish to change
- Right-click the selected text
- Choose Select Text with Similar Formatting
All text containing the same formatting will be selected. Make the desired changes and all selected text will be changed at the same time!
Word 2007 Instructions
- Select the text containing the formatting you wish to change
- Right-click the selected text
- Choose Styles
- Choose Select Text with Similar Formatting
All text containing the same formatting will be selected. Make the desired changes and all selected text will be changed at the same time!
Caution: Remember, when you use this feature any text containing the exact same formatting will be selected and changes you make will apply to all selected text so be certain that is what you wish to do.
