Focus on the speaker

There are times during a slide show when we wish to bring the focus back to the speaker rather than the slide on the screen. This can be done by turning the slide solid black or white so that it appears as though a blank slide is on the screen. The steps are as follows:

Blank black slide: press the letter B
Display the slide again, press the letter B

Blank white slide:
press the letter W
Display the slide again, press the letter W

Annotating a slide during a presentation

There may be times during your slide show when you want to circle an item on a slide to bring attention to it. This can be done by converting your mouse pointer to pen mode. Afterwards you can click and drag the mouse to circle items on the slide and/or write using the mouse as a pen. Read on for the steps and additional tips.

Turn the mouse pointer to a pen: press Ctrl+P, now use your mouse by dragging to draw on the slide.

Erase ink annotations you have drawn
: press the ESC key.

Turn the mouse pointer back to a pointing arrow
: Ctrl+A

For additional pointer options such as changing the mouse pointer to a highlighter, changing the ink color of the pen, and more, right-click the slide while in slide show mode and choose Pointer Options.
