Operation Christmas Child |
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on mission project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas-Jesus Christ. It's not too soon to began planning this wonderful hands-on mission opportunity. Since these boxes are sent all over the world, the National Collection Week is November 17-24 in order to make sure they arrive before Christmas. The Darfur Olympics |
For over five years, the Sudanese government -- backed by China, its closest ally -- has been responsible for the genocide in Darfur that has murdered more than 300,000 people and caused over 2.5 million to flee their homes. As an alternative to the Olympic Games and to keep the spotlight on Darfur during the Olympics, Dream for Darfur is webcasting the "Darfur Olympics," daily alternative programming during the first week of the Games. To kick off the week of action, Dream for Darfur is airing an "Alternative Opening Ceremony" on August 8 featuring musicians like R.E.M., Talib Kweli, Carly Simon, and many more who have donated music videos to Darfur.
Help keep the spotlight on Darfur by signing up to watch the "Darfur Olympics." Sign up by clicking here.
