New Kirk New Church Development has announced their chartering date.  On Sunday, October 19, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at Sandlapper Elementary School in Blythewood, New Kirk's status will change from a "development" to a church.  This has been a process that began in 2004 when a few folks gathered in the home of organizing pastor Rev. Scott Bowerman.  Since those early days much has changed. The congregation has grown to over 200 attendees, they have bought property and have had a very successful capital campaign to raise money to start construction of their church building.   The new church will eventually be located in Blythewood, north of Columbia, an area that is growing very fast.  It has been a long journey for New Kirk - one lead by the Holy Spirit.  Their faithfulness and steadfastness has come to fruitition and soon New Kirk Presbyterian "Church" will be a beacon to those seeking to be a part of this community of believers and a place to experience God's love.
