Churches Join Forces for Mission Trip

Mission Group
Seven Oaks Presbyterian,
McGregor Presbyterian and First Sumter
came together during the recent Spring Break and travelled to Mexico.  Their mission was one of building, not only homes, but one of building relationships.
in Reynosa, Mexico, the team was responsible for working on 2 houses and 4 roofs.  Pictured above are some of the youth and adults that attended along with one of the families that benefited from their efforts.  The work was hard, the climate sultry, but the rewards - priceless!

Trinity Youth Council News

Youth Rally

In November, the Trinity Youth Council held a middle school retreat at Black Mountain YMCA.  At this three day retreat, the middle schoolers of Trinity Presbytery came together to learn and worship.  The Youth Council planned this weekend: including all the details such as small group time, skits, energizers, and recreation time.  The theme this year was "Trinity's Got Talent" and the retreat was about embracing your own talents in order to work together as one body in Christ.

In January, TPYC held a High School Lock-In at Dutch Square Mall.  It was an all night event at the mall that included games, a movie, a concert, team-building, and energizers.  The night was closed by a "service time" where all participants were asked to partake in a service activity of their choice.  It was a huge success!!

To accompany a David Bailey Concert in Aiken, the Youth Council planned a day of Olympic Games. The day was a competition between teams that led to team-building and a lot of fun!  After the day at the park, the high schoolers and middle schoolers went to dinner

and to the David Bailey concert.  Everyone had a great time playing and competing!

On  May 10th, we will have a day retreat at Camp Fellowship.  The theme of the day is "Living Water," where we will experience fellowship with youth from around our presbytery. A day of great fun, recreation and group activities and adventure options.  A cookout will help close out our activities. It should be a spiritually enriching day as we end with a small worship service by the lake. For further information on Living water '08, click here or contact Kevin Cartee

RECONCILE Workshop in South Sudan

Background. RECONCILE is a peacebuilding organization which works with PC(USA) and Trinity Sudan Ministry to promote reconciliation in Southern Sudan following over two decades of civil war. Rev. Debbie Braaksma is a PC(USA) mission worker with RECONCILE.

Please pray for a peacebuilding workshop RECONCILE is doing in Pibor South Sudan to address the serious inter-ethnic tensions between the Murle and Dinka peoples. God's Spirit is at work - there are many Christian leaders on both sides ready to lead the process of reconciliation.

Please pray for a couple of days without rain so that we might be able to land on the Pibor airstrip on April 18th in time for the 5 day workshop and for safety. Please keep Debbie Braaksma and her associates John Okumu and Simon Chol in your prayers as they lead the workshop.
