Seasonal flu shot limited to seniors in British Columbia
British Columbians over the age of 65 will be able to get their usual seasonal flu shot beginning next month, but in the wake of a study suggesting the vaccine can increase the risk of contracting the H1N1 flu virus, everyone else is being asked to wait until 2010.
Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia have made similar decisions.
Medical researchers at the B.C. Centre for Disease Control, in collaboration with others across Canada, say they've found that people who received the seasonal flu vaccine in the past were more likely to catch H1N1. |

The BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia Canadians have made similar decisions not to vaccinate <65 years old with seasonal flu vaccine. These Canadians have got it half right. Now they need to read the scientific literature that flu vaccines have never worked.
Our lives and the lives of our children are too important to leave them in the hands of government or the pharmaceutical industry. |

Gary Goldman, PhD is President and founder of Medical Veritas International Inc., a non-profit 501(c)3 public charity that supports medical/scientific research and education.
