Homefirst® Pro-D 50,000IU
A Treatment for Colds and Flu

Dr Eisenstein

There is growing scientific evidence that suggests 50,000 I.U of Vitamin D3 per day for 3- 5 days may be an effective treatment for many viral and bacterial diseases.

Dr. John Cannell MD, who captains the Vitamin D Council, recently authoured a paper which shows the winter increase in colds and flu is attributed to low seasonal vitamin D levels. Dr. Cannell cites the earlier work of R. Edgar Hope-Simpson who first proposed that variations in exposure to solar radiation explains the seasonality of influenza epidemics.

[Epidemiological Infection 134: 1129-40, Dec. 2006] Dr. Cannell even has a challenge for visitors to the Vitamin D Council website. He suggests high-dose vitamin D (50,000 IU - 1.25 milligrams) be consumed for 3 days at the first sign of a cold or the flu.

So far, Dr. Cannell is receiving many reports of how quickly high- dose vitamin D overpowers the common cold (this writer tried high-dose vitamin D with the first sign of sniffles this winter, and the vitamin D therapy worked rapidly both times).

Dr Eisenstein's comments:

I had the same clinical experience as Dr. Cannell with regards to colds, flu and other respiratory infections.

Therefore, I added probiotics to the vitamin D3 to enhance potency and absorption.

In a small case study, we treated 14 of our patients who had respiratory symptoms (cough, runny nose etc) , with our Pro-D 50,000 for 3 days. In every case their symptoms resolved in 3 days or less.

I have been receiving similar reports from other doctors.
