Great Discovery at MoRIMake a Grand Discovery 
 
The Museum of Russian Icons, 203 Union Street, Clinton, recently acquired ten exceptional Russian icons from prominent private collectors in Germany and Holland and invites you to enjoy this Grand Discovery Exhibition. A significant, late 15th Century icon from northern Russia titled Three Hierarchs: Saint Basil the Great, Saint Gregory and Saint John Chrysostomos, represents the three patriarchs of the Orthodox Church. Icons from the 1400s are extremely rare and prized. Three Hierarchs is in excellent condition, depicts pivotal subject matter and is a highlight of the new exhibition. The Joy of Music Program invites you to a faculty recital featuring pianist Priscilla Noyes Kjorlaug on Sunday, May 16th at 4:30 p.m. at One Gorham Street. A native of Dexter, Missouri, Kjorlaug holds a Master of Music degree in piano performance and pedagogy and a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from Arkansas State University. She will performs works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Copland and Schumann. Admission to the recital $10, just $7 for students, seniors.

Join the American Antiquarian Society, 185 Salisbury Street, for a discussion of author Lori Ginzberg's book Elizabeth Cady Stanton: An American Life on Tuesday, May 18th at 7:30 p.m. To many, Stanton was a dangerous radical whose words threatened men's exclusive control over politics, the stability of marriage and the sanctity of religion. Jolly Olde England 
 
Take a trip across the pond as they say, along with the Master Singers of Worcester for a concert of Jolly Olde England on Sunday, May 16th 3-5 p.m.  at the Salem Covenant Church, 215 East Mountain Street. The program, celebrating a range of English music from the past to present will include anthems by Tudor composers Gibbons, Philps and Tallis, as well as folk settings and songs by later composers including Holst and Standord. Women's History Workshop 
 
Do you want to help collect women's stories? Interested in the memories of relatives for a family history? Join members of the Worcester Women's Oral History Project for an informative workshop on how to collect and share the experiences of Worcester women on Thursday, May 27th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Worcester Historical Museum, 30 Elm Street. Learn the basics of oral history including asking the right questions, the art of listening and transcription tips. Free and open to the public.
Salisbury SingersA Night at the Opera 
 
The Salisbury Singers will perform choruses from Carmen, La Traviata and more at a Night at the Opera on Saturday, May 15th at 7 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church, 90 Main Street. Fifty singers will be joined by four renowned professional soloists - soprano Andrea Matthews, messo-soprano Gale Fuller, tenor Ray Bauwens and baritone John Whittlesey. The evening will also feature a silent auction featuring fine wine, jewelry, handcraft furniture, pottery and crystal, and more. Tickets are available online or by calling 508 799-3848.
Hangin on Wall at ARTSWorcesterHangin' on the Wall 
 
Explore Worcester's history of wallpaper manufacturing with a new exhibit, Hangin' on the Wall at ARTSWorcester's Aurora Gallery, 660 Main Street. Exhibit opens with a reception from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 21st. Hangin' on the Wall explores and expands on Worcester's little-known history as a wallpaper manufacturer. Artists were invited to create works in all media, exploring the theme of wallpaper. In 1908 the Allen-Higgins Wallpaper Company of Worcester was known for its production of medium to high grade wallpaper that was appealing for both its artistic and practical value. Today, samples of the Allen-Higgins Wallpaper can be found in museums around the world. The exhibit will run through June 25th. Swipe your WOO Card for Double WOO points.

The Worcester Cultural Commission will host a Community Input Meeting on Thursday, May 20th from 5-7 p.m. at WCUW 91.3 FM, 910 Main Street. Meeting is FREE and Open to the Public. Great opportunity to meet the Commissioners and share your input about desired priorities for the upcoming grant cycle. Light refreshment will be served. All are welcomed and encouraged to attend!
