Iniven Introduces the Fidra One-of-a-Kind Fiber Optic Switch

Multifunction relay-to-relay

fiber optic control and monitoring

Iniven, a division of Conolog Corporation, recently announced the launch of Fidra, a fiber optic switch designed to monitor, reroute, repeat, boost and disable up to three fiber optic communication pairs.

An industry first in fiber optic communication and protective relaying, Fidra enables active control of fiber optic communication, so you can easily manage any type of fiber optics signaling for operations and testing.

  • Physical Layer Router and Repeater
  • Eliminates Handling of Fibers
  • Monitor, Alarm, and Cut Optic Signals
  • Convert Fiber Types and Frequencies
  • Multiple Preprogramed Modes
  • Designed for use with Protective Relaying
Utilizing industry standard SFP modules allows Fidra to support various optical communications including single/multimode, LED/Laser as well as multiple wavelengths.

Common applications for Fidra include:

  •    Communications disable
  •    Fiber optic path routing
  •    Wavelength and fiber type conversion

It allows for testing and maintenance without the need to remove and reroute fiber cables, eliminating costly fiber damage and ruining components caused by improper handling.

The Fidra is programmable to route any receive signal to any of the three transmitters. All routing is performed... Read more

NovaTech's New Bitronics M653 Multifunction Meters Offer Three Displays
NovaTech

Bitronics - The Engineer's Choice

Bitronics has been providing excellence in digital

metering for local indication and SCADA communications for over 15 years. The Bitronics 50 Series of SCADA meters continues this tradition of excellence, providing single function and multifunction solutionsfor 3-phase metering.

NovaTech's Bitronics M653 is a family of multifunction, three-display meters with a range of measurement capabilities.

The M653 meters have

three incomparable displays,

are simple to set up and

use, and offer superior communications flexibility.

Each M653 three-display-at-once meter is mounted in a 19", 3U high panel. This gives users who want to display three values at once (such as 3-phase volts, 3-phase amps and total Watt/VAR) a simple way to hook up one meter and have the three-screen display they want without having to install and wire up three separate meters.

The M653 is a great value compared with the cost of separate SCADA meters. Setup of the left and right screens is very simple from either the webpage or directly from the front display. The left and right arrow keys are used to "capture" the screen from the center screen and move it to either of the outer screens. The M653 joins the previously announced M650 SCADA Meter and M651 SCADA Transducer along with the M350 Family of 3-phase Ammeters and Voltmeters.
