NEW!  Viper®-LT Solid Dielectric, Triple-Option Reclosers

G&W Electric has extended its line of three phase reclosers with a G&W Viper-LTtriple/single design specifically for fault Interrupting through 27kV, 630A, 16kA symmetrical interrupting.  G&W's Viper-LT solid dielectric, triple option recloser combines the time proven reliability of electronically controlled, vacuum fault interrupters with the maintenance-free benefits of a solid dielectric insulated device.

The triple option feature offers user flexibility by permitting three distinct mechanical operation modes:

1-phase trip / 1-phase lockout, 1-phase trip / 3-phase lockout, or 3-phase trip / 3-phase lockout.

Viper-LT features include:

  • Reliable Performance - They utilize a time-proven cycloaliphatic epoxy system to fully encapsulate the vacuum interrupters.
  • Operator Safety including manual open mechanical block
  • Maintenance-free - Solid dielectric insulation provides a maintenance-free installation.
  • Ease of Operation -They're compatible with the Schweitzer SEL-651R control.
  • Ease of Installation - They're lightweight and compact, and optional site-ready designs provide all accessories preassembled, reducing installation time. One single control cable brings all current, breaker status and trip/close information into the control.
  • Smart Grid /Lazer Automation - They're automation ready, simplifying conversion for any future automation requirements.
  • Dead-Line Operation - The magnetic actuator system's unique design provides for local and remote operation of the recloser if power is lost or interrupted.
  • Operation Principle - The Viper-LT recloser monitors the circuit using internal multi-ratio current transformers and voltage sensors. The unit is powered by an external 120 VAC or 125 VDC source.

Visit Power Monitors, Inc. (PMI) in Booth #1731
at the TechAdvantage Expo.

PMI is the leading manufacturer of power quality (PQ) analyzers and wireless PQ monitoring solutions for residential, commercial, retail, institutional, industrial, and substation applications.  They provide a wide range of services, including 24/7 technical support, industry-leading PQ training, and a robust line of PQ measurement equipment and software.

Boomerang™ Line-Powered Voltage Monitor

The Boomerang family of single-phase wireless voltage sensors extends your SCADA system to anywhere needed - a residential meter base, a voltage regulator on a pole, the end of a distribution line, or even a 120V receptacle.  Each Boomerang includes an integrated cell modem with internal antenna for unobtrusive real-time voltage monitoring anywhere.  Available in a Form 2S meter socket adapter, or standalone box configuration, the Boomerang works with the Canvass web-based data analysis software to provide a complete RMS voltage picture.

The Boomerang collects RMS voltage data on a one second basis. Every 30 minutes, most recent 1800 one-second RMS values are sent to the PMI data center, for storage in the Canvass database. With this system, all data collection is performed continuously by the Canvass database - no data is stored in the Boomerang, and no recording download operation is required by the user. The data is always available via Canvass, automatically. As soon as the Boomerang is installed, it links with Canvass - no user setup is required at all. The latest real-time readings are always available via the Canvass interface.

In addition to the Canvass data link, the Boomerang also includes a DNP3 TCP link. The full-featured DNP3 interface is optimized for Demand Management Systems (DMS) and Conservation Voltage Reduction (CVR) systems.

Canvass Web Software

The Canvass system includes a database in the PMI data center, and web-based data analysis software. All Boomerang data is available any time, all from a web browser.

Features & benefits of the Boomerang and Canvass include:

  • DNP3 interface connects directly to your network's SCADA system
  • Integrated cell modem & remote communications
  • Simultaneously monitor and compare data from multiple locations
  • No downloads necessary
  • Instant e-mail and SMS text alerts

This is the Ideal monitoring system for:

  • Voltage Regulation
  • End-of-Line Monitoring
  • Long-term Voltage Studies

SensorLink - Booth #639

Visit SensorLink at Booth #639
at the TechAdvantage Expo.

SensorLink
found a way in 1988 to eliminate the mechanical clamp from measurements of current.  They developed and patented an inductive sensor that used no magnetic materials and had no moving parts.  The opening of the sensor is electronically closed and external currents are also electronically rejected.  Accuracy, external current reject, and range of currents measured substantially exceed the best clamp-on sensors.  Today, thousands of SensorLink meters and recorders are in service worldwide.

Amcorder UG Underground Recording Ammeter
Amcorder UG

  • Collect & analyze load profiles
  • Use on Underground Circuits
  • Open CT sensor with ±1% accuracy
  • Easily clamps to the line in seconds & is submersible
The key feature of SensorLink's Amcorder UG is the ability to leave it deployed on an elbow to record average current readings every few minutes for 30+ days. It easily attaches to the line with a standard shotgun style hot stick. Once on the line, it immediately begins to collect and record the current load.

ElectSolve is a full service provider of technical, management and consulting services and technology platforms for Smart Grid control, monitoring and automation. Since 1999, ElectSolve has helped electric, water and gas utilities maximize the return on their technology investment dollars. ElectSolve's flagship product, uCentra™ Operational Data Management System (ODMS), is a proven and vendor neutral next-generation meter data management system (MDMS) that provides an integration platform for AMI/AMR, CIS, SCADA, OMS, EA/GIS, demand response and distribution automation management systems. uCentra™ provides full 360-degree view of all operational data with centralized management, analysis, and reporting.

uCentra™ MDM SYSTEM
The Meter Data Management (MDM) system is an integration platform specifically designed to interface to many disparate operational data collection systems such as: AMI, SCADA, CIS, OMS, etc. The MDM is a centralized data management solution for operational data management, analysis and reporting and provides a full 360-degree view of all operational data.

The MDM is fully interoperable with all collection systems, thereby allowing the MDM portal and dashboards to provide not only summary information, but the ability of the stakeholder to access granular information, such as a specific register value from a smart meter.

The MDM performs the critical functions of: data integration and normalization with CIS data; Data Validation, Estimation and Editing (VEE); Time of Use (TOU); Aggregation/Settlement; Load Profiling; Loss Analysis Reporting System (LARS); and Data Storage and Management.

MDM DASHBOARDS
The web-browser-based Dashboards allow utilities to "park" operational data in various orientations and report formats on a user's PC desktop for internal monitoring of... Read More
