The Shpil
Saturday, October 22
Leaping shtetlekh and musical genres in a single bound, L.A.'s own The Shpil will take the stage at Genghis Cohen this Saturday night. From exquisitely-mastered Eastern European and Yiddish classics to imaginative, klezmerized reworkings of top 40 hits, The Shpil's members bring a unique blend of folk, rock, jazz and classical influences to the table. Imagine, for example, Carl Orff jamming with Kurt Cobain in the courtyards of Vilna (click on the right to hear it).
You can't miss this amazing klezmer band with their unique spin on traditional klezmer. Visit yiddi.sh/theshpil to purchase tickets before the show (highly recommended at this intimate space).
