The Klezmatics are the only klezmer group to win a GRAMMY® Award. From their launching pad on New York City's Lower East Side, the Klezmatics took the music of European Jews, revived and re-energized it, and brought it back to Europe, where they made their international debut in Berlin in 1988. Now celebrating 20 years since that musical shot heard 'round the world, the Klezmatics begin a North American tour that takes them from Royce Hall to Carnegie Hall. On their 2009 tour, the Klezmatics celebrate their newest CD, a 20-year retrospective titled Tuml=Lebn (Noise=Life). Join them for a musical tour of the wildly adventurous terrain the group has traveled over the last two decades, from their early explorations of Jewish music to their dedicated efforts in finding common ground with other traditions. They have traveled anywhere and everywhere: folk, jazz, punk, classical, world, theater, and gospel. Along the way, the Klezmatics have established themselves as the world's most eclectic, and inclusive, Jewish party band. "(They) aren't just the best band in the klezmer vanguard... they rank
among the best bands on the planet. Jewish traditional music is just
the starting point for songs that jump, rock and swing-sometimes all at
the same time" [Time Out, New York]. --> More info on our website.--> Listen to the Klezmatics.--> Buy Tickets!
