Dear Friend of Yiddishkayt,

The ¡Viva Yiddish! Project is a GO!  No, seriously, today the LA Weekly picked our concert as a "go pick" to headline their La Vida calendar.  Check it out here.

In just two days, the all-star musicians behind The ¡Viva Yiddish! Project will take to the stage and Spanish will meet Yiddish, Klezmer will meet Banda, and you will meet the new sound of Yiddish-Latino music - the sound of our city.

This is one FREE concert you don't want to miss.

You've never seen anything like it because this is the first time this Super-Group is playing together onstage.  This is an awesome mix of musicians - and we're not exaggerating.  Frank London (Klezmatics), Michael Alpert (Brave Old World), the incredible Banda Juvenil, directed by banda legends The Valenzuela Twiins (Banda Recodo), Rock-en-Español pioneer Ceci Bastida (Tijuana NO), and beloved L.A. musician Wil-Dog Abers, with surprise guests assembled by Wil-Dog. Plus a special appearance by celebrated Yiddish music star Mike Burstyn.

If you've never been to California Plaza before, you're in for a real treat - bring food and drink and picnic before the show.  Use the link below to invite your friends!

THE STORY

The ¡Viva Yiddish! Project
is the new sound of Yiddish-Latino music, a celebration of our ciudad, our shtetl. Los Angeles is a cultural capital of Latin America. But is L.A. also a capital of Yiddish culture? Certainly there was a time when you could read the paper, discuss politics, and buy a knish - all in Yiddish. In neighborhoods like Boyle Heights, Jewish and Latino worlds met and cultures converged: imagine standing between Jewish and Latino nightclubs, hearing the souls of Yiddish and Latino music mix together.
