Dear Friend of Yiddishkayt,
It was a pleasure to see so many of you at all our events last month! Both film screenings were fascinating. Molly Picon's charm can still bring an audience to laughter, and stories from inter-war Vilna remain relevant and powerful. At the Festival of Books we provided a heym, a home, for Yiddish culture and introduced many to the riches of Yiddish. Read about past events here, and see pictures from the Festival here. We're currently working very hard to bring you some great events over the next several months. Save the date of May 31st for an enlightening discussion of the state of Yiddish education. And if you're in need of Mother's Day plans, check out the concert at the Workmen's Circle. Read on for more information, and we hope to see you again soon! |

Celebration & Discussion Thursday May 31st, 8:00 pm at the Workmen's Circle
Yiddishkayt Los Angeles presents an evening of celebration, retrospection and discussion. Two years ago we embarked on a landmark project to reintroduce Yiddish language instruction in Jewish day schools. Hundreds of lessons, tests and grades later, we celebrate the achievements of our students and our Educator, Hannah Pollin. As we plan the next few years of our project, we reflect on our experiences and discuss the future of Yiddish education. Join us as we examine the question: Why Study Yiddish? More details to come soon. Save the date! Email events@yiddishkaytla.org with any questions.
