Run For the Wall XXIII
We Ride for Those Who Can't!  Thousands of bikes passed through Southern Colorado this weekend . They call their ride "Run for the Wall". They start each year, Veterans and Non-Veterans, in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. This year they left on May 18th and will ride to the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC, arriving on May 27th. This is the 23rd consecutive year that this ride has taken place. Their Mission: To promote healing among all Veterans and their families and friends, to call for an accounting of ALL Prisoners of War and Missing in Action (POW/MIA), to honor the memory of those Killed in Action (KIA) from all wars, and to support our military personnel all over the world. Their Philosophy: They strive to maintain a safe, supportive,and private atmosphere in which all participants can reflect and heal on their journey to the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC in hope that they can return home with a new beginning. Along their journey, they visit VA Medical Centers, VA Memorials, VA Outreach facilities, VFW Posts, American Legion Posts, Community Centers, as well as schools. I believe that this is a true memorial celebration and reflects what Memorial Day is all about - Honoring our Fallen Veterans!
