Winter can bring broken pipes and leaky roofs. In either case, your day has been ruined!
We can help!
It's that time of year, Winter! I know from experience that winter can be harsh on you and your home. In fact, I think the most devastating and inconvenient destruction that I have ever experienced in my home, was broken water pipes.
The problem will worsen if not dealt with properly from the start. Getting the water up and out is the most important thing to do. Then get the area dry as quickly as possible. It's not just the carpet or floor, it's the baseboards, the walls, and in some cases, inside of the walls. Worst case scenario, like mine was, is a break in a pipe UPSTAIRS! Then you'll want to include ceilings in that cleanup too.
Of course with large problems, you'll want to call a professional, but for smaller problems, we can help. If the water is removed immediately and completely dried, you may be able to save your carpet or hardwood floors. If not, the water turns dampness into destruction of the floors, carpet and padding, and even the surface underneath the carpet or whatever has spread into the walls.
Using a carpet extractor and air mover can help you resolve this problem quickly and efficiently. Having the suction power to pull the water out and then drying everything with the air mover may just do the trick and save you from costly repairs.
After my incident, I purchased an air mover and the small spot remover from Sanitaire, just to have in the house. Fortunately, I haven't had anymore broken pipes, but have found many uses for both items. The spot cleaner really comes in handy for quick cleanups on carpets and floors. I also use both for drying the garage floor after the snow has melted off of my car in the winter time. After my carpets are cleaned, I put the air mover in the room and carpets are dry in an hour.
You'll find more uses than you can imagine. Great tools to have in the house, not just for the emergencies that winter brings us!
